Kinglake West Primary School has been serving its semi-rural community since 1896. It is situated in a bushland community set high on the Great Dividing Range about 65 kilometres north of Melbourne.
In early July 2009 we moved into modern newly contructed buildings designed to be enviornmentally sustainable.
At present our enrolment is approximately 160 children. While most of our students live in various parts of Kinglake West and Pheasant Creek, significant numbers are drawn from surrounding districts including Kinglake, Middle Kinglake, Flowerdale and Whittlesea.
The children’s behaviour, sense of responsibility and friendship are positive features of Kinglake West Primary School. Great emphasis is placed on caring for our students, staff and parents.
The school currently employs seven full time classroom teachers and offers specialist teaching in Art, Physical Education, Japanase, ICT and Music. We also employ several support staff and integration aides.
While emphasis is placed on developing effective skills and a high level of achievement in literacy and numeracy, the comprehensive curriculum provides high quality programs covering all learning areas.
